About Kimmie

Kimmie Smith believes in "luxury for your day - everyday" regardless of what you do. Kimmie's primary focus is ensuring that she shares her insight on great style by focusing on accessories to create a well rounded look. Kimmie is all about sharing a luxury lifestyle in all that you do. Her background began as a digital publicist for independent recording artists who were only available in the digital space as she is the Great Niece to the late jazz tenor saxophonist, Joe Henderson who was apart of Universal Records. Although Kimmie enjoyed music, she also worked as a model and began working as a visual merchandiser for premium brands. Her love for the digital space allowed her to begin blogging in 2004 and by 2006, she became the Editor in Chief of See Pretty Things, an accessories niche blog that was named, "Best Accessories Blog 2006" by Accessories Magazine within 3 months of being live! With a passion for accessories, Kimmie launched her own line, began styling clients and emerged as an Accessories Expert; however, she wanted to embrace a lifestyle focus as she realized that we dress to convey a feeling and to connect to where we are going.

In 2007, Kimmie launched Kitten Lounge which covers fashion, style, beauty, food, music and travel. This lifestyle site allows Kimmie to work with a variety of brands, to continue working as an Style, Accessories, Luxury and On Air Expert with a following of 250,000 followers via Kitten Lounge and related social networks. Through this site, Kimmie has participated within a number of projects such as the Diane Von Furstenberg X Blogger photoshoot, photographed by Franco Lacosta, attending Fashion Week, included within 2 Coach projects including their Blogger Influential campaign for their Fall 2010 MYNY campaign, hosted shopping events at Tory Burch's NoLita store, styled a model for their Resort 2011 collection and also a Hamptons Shopping event with APART, a German based apparel brand as well as an Ibiza themed event in conjunction with Social Diva and various press trips. Kitten Lounge aims to bring many events and insider presentations to the website while also creating readers that are in the know in terms of their own style and influencing their own groups - essentially ensuring that they become the "go to person" within their circles. She has also become a go to person when it comes to asking about brands positioning with their collections such as Diane Von Furstenberg's use of social when launching their vintage collection. This focus has allowed Kitten Lounge to be featured in Elle.com, Essence.com and a number of media outlets. Her voice also appears as a contributing writer for Betty Confidential.com, Loving You.com (apart of the She Knows.com network) and more.

Kimmie's passion for her nuvo glam style is more than just a love of her staple brands paired with fabulous accessories. She is currently a Crest 3D White Spokesperson as a white smile compliments any outfit, is a StriVectin Insider, Aveeno Ambassador, Eucerin Ambassador, Mauboussin Constellation Ambassador and was included within Flirt Cosmetics' series (apart of the Estee Lauder) as an Accessories Expert highlighting Spring 2011 trends. Her sense of style continues to be shared as she takes on an additional role as a Curator (others include Tim Gunn and Diane Von Furstenburg) for AhaLife, bringing fab accessories finds that are limited but a must to include within your everyday! Each season she works with a number of brands to showcase seasonal trends and recently shot segments with Steven Cojocaru - Cojo for Summer 2011. Kimmie continues to curate her sense of style with a select group of international personalities who embrace her desire to continue to showcase emerging and global talent by using their star power to establish trends. In addition, Kimmie hosted and co-produced The Blogger Break Room during Feb NYFW in conjunction with Lookbooks at their midtown loft. This event allowed media the chance to recharge while enjoying spa services as well as being introduced to accessory brands. With the success of working with brands in various ways, Kimmie launched, Kimmie's Gimmies which are themed events with an intimate group of bloggers and influencers, Kimmie shares her finds within a theme and there is always a fun celeb/VIP component as the video is streamed to virtual watchers and tweeted about by those at the event and those listening in.

Recently during NYFW in September 2011, Kimmie launched her Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 at Robert Verdi's Luxe Lab NYFW SS12 to a group of buyers, celebs, fashion influencers and media. At the same time, she celebrated Kitten Lounge's 4th anniversary as well as participating in Fashion Night Out by co-hosting a style session with Ted Rossi at Henri Bendel, an accessory destination. Prior to NYFW, Kimmie was announced within the September 2011 Issue as 1 of 10 influential bloggers that were included within the Beauty Brains and Blogs Network which was created by the publishers of Cosmo' Magazine. The October 2011 Issue was released during fashion week and Kimmie was included within Palladium Jewelry's spread within the magazine which includes Rose McGowan, Pamela Anderson and Kelly Osbourne. In addition, on the online component she created a video for the Get Palladium Pretty which appeared on Cosmo and Palladium's Facebook page. She has also been included within their March 2012 issue She was also included within a recent Huffington Post article in the Style section discussing that relationship between Traditional and New Media and how Kimmie Smith's brand is elevated and reciprocates by utilizing both. In addition, Kimmie recently shot a makeup tutorial in connection with the release of 20th Century Fox's Water For Elephants. Robin Frediksz celebrity make up artist and creator of the looks for the movie, recreated the night time look on Kimmie using Avon products. Kimmie also ended the year with Kitten Lounge's Holiday Gift Magalog 2011 as well as hosting Holiday Shopping LoungeKitten Lounge's Holiday Shopping Lounge with her sponsor, Ink48 - a Kimpton Hotel. This was a fun event with accessories brands within the luxury sector that assisted attendees with being able to tackle their shopping lists.

Kimmie kicks off 2012 with a number of fun projects on the horizon. In addition to being added to Avon's Brand Ambassador Program, Kimmie will continue within Cosmopolitan Magazine's Beauty, Brains and Blogs network for a second year in the row. Starting this Spring, Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 will be included within select Bloomingdale's in the country, specialty retail stores and HSN. In addition, Kimmie's apparel label will launch as well as her jewelry line.
