Last week’s episodes were a lot, Married at First Sight continues with E13 where we kick off with Marissa and Adam. Marissa’s friends are over and she tells them about the whole pickleball institute. They are pleased that she is sticking to her guns, but they wonder if they are truly compatible. He meets them and he explains that he is aware of te fact that she isn’t going to do his activities. Whether he really feels that way has yet to be seen.

Nick and Courtney are chatting post their date. Courtney tells him that he doesn’t have opinions and he tells her that when she shut him down earlier, it makes him pull back. He also says that he gloms on to the personality that is around him. If he sees her be a certain way, he is going to mirror that. She seems surprised that he feels she is not goofy and then he says, but you do it with other people, but it is denied to him. Although he is being open in chatting with her, she is being very aggressive and defensive. Even when she asks him certain things, she doesn’t really want to hear his answer and says he’s not being himself, which makes him say, “well you don’t know me so how do you know if I am being myself?”

Cam and Michelle is the couple that I am seriously rooting for and it’s frustrating to hear when he is in his head a bit. The fact that she has to remind him that commitment is a choice makes me wonder if he will say yes!

We catch up with Caitlin and Devin on date night. The last time we saw them they were angry with one another and not happy! This seems to be yet another reset that they are trying to do. He lets her know that he wants more affection and agrees that even a leg on him would be appreciated on the couch.

Mecca and BelleJolie talk about their childhoods while enjoying steamy hot cocoa. We learn that BelleJolie grew up poorer than poor and once had toothpaste as a meal while her mom would go various days not eating so that she could make sure that her 5 kids had, “something to chew on.” Just hearing that phrase as opposed to saying that they had a meal really makes it such a heartbreaking story. She even says that after all that she went through, her mother who raised her children on her own, always made sure to celebrate her birthday. Mecca a few days later showers her with gifts which makes her so happy.

We check in with Tori and Felipe. We see Tori alone chatting with her friend on a video call. She tells her friend that he is very in and out with her, the fact that he says he loves sleeping with multiple people and that he is babied by his mom. When we see them together again, Tori says he needs to step up to handle things that are taking place around the house. She also lets him know that ahead of the group therapy that they are doing, he is just focusing on himself because he is in an internal war. She doesn’t feel that he is curious about her. He agrees that she is right and he hasn’t been curious. He thanks her for letting him know that he is not where she needs him to be. In his confessional he claims he wants to do better and to change because he likes her.

Nikki and Shawn have a date in a candle shop where they make them and talk about money and how it should be handled between them. I have such a conflicted feeling about the 2 of them. Even Nikki feels conflicted as they have aligned values, but then there are things that he does that throws things to the side. She wonders if they can grow the foundation that they have into one that is romantic.

The couples get ready for group therapy and Nick explains that he doesn’t even see how what they are doing is sustainable because she gives him no air and is so defensive and aggressive. All the couples arrive and get settled in for quite a night. With Nick and Courtney being the last couple, it’s interesting that they are holding hands, but it just feels like it is a bit of show as they are in a very broken place. With only a few weeks left, the experts say that now is the time to really delve into what is going on.

Nick and Courtney are told to begin. She tells everyone that she wants him to be his real true self with her. He then says that he is being himself. When asked if he puts in more then her in terms of the relationship, he says that that is not it and he doesn’t want to discredit what she has done. But he knows that she doesn’t value him and what he is doing. When asked if they are romantically linked, they both agree that it is not. Being a likeable person is different than someone who wants to be in a marriage. They ask point blank if Nick and Courtney would like to end their marriage tonight.

E14 picks up right where we left off. We realize that the end has come for them and they are no longer continuing forward in the process. Each of the couples are challenged with where they are as they each have their nuances. The couples are shocked that they are no longer there but with only 2 weeks left, it’s time to be serious!

Marissa and Adam continue to have communication issues as she says that she has stood her ground; however, she is still trying to do pickleball with others. She is surprised to hear that she will meet Adam’s sister and Adam is shocked to hear that her friends don’t like her as much as he thought he did.

Michelle and Cam’s biggest issue is that he has fears as he is always in his head. We also know that he seems to have issues and we see Michelle comfort him.

Caitlin and Devin have gotten closer as she shared that let him know about awful things that happened with previous people she dated. He wants her to know that he is not that guy and he gave her a space place. In addition, her walls are coming down. Paul asks whether he is living in his full essence as he stated that he was dimmed before an dit seems like he has.

Tori and Felipe are next and Paul says that Felipe is not being real. His indecision is actually that he is not ready. He claims he is and Paul asks how long do you think that Tori will wait for you. Tori says it’s emotional manipulation.

Nikkie and Shawn sound like a JV deal that brokers their issues in a boardroom - is this sustainable?

We enter in E15 and more family members are meeting the couples and they get advice on how to navigate their new world. We see Caitlin meeting Devin’s aunt as well as Michelle and Cam having dinner with her aunt and uncle.

Tori and Felips have a meeting with Paul. They explore emotional manipulation and Paul lets them know that what designates that scenario isn’t here and if it was, they would have been asked to leave the experiment. With calmer heads, clearing the air of of the heated nature of the previous night - they are working through everything to see if they can get to a place where they can stay together and be in a safe place with one another.

Adam and Marissa are on a date and he is eating with his hands like a caveman with his massive state - she lets him know that it gives her the ick as well as his intensity for jet skiing, pickleball and more. She says that this is a turnoff. He tells her that he thinks that they are slightly mismatched on an athletic level.

Shawn and Nikki had a chocolate and wine date which led to a physical encounter that wasn’t sex but was sexual and nature. So they have advanced and Nikki says that they are sexually compatible, but now she needs to see if there is romance there.

We also see Caitlin and Devin go out to be with her father. Her dad seems way more comfortable around Devin and he gives them tips on how to make a marriage work and last.

Felipa and Tori go on a date to a sauna and reconnect. I don’t know how I feel about their marriage as I don’t know how it works because he always puts roadblocks up between them.

It’s time for another couple’s dinner and Cam and Michelle say that they are going to make sure that everyone speaks their truth and doesn’t just try to go through the motions. I always enjoy how the experts enjoy seeing how everyone come in. In addition, they both talk about how it was awkward to watch Nick and Courtney break up in front of them. They also wonder if Felipe made up with Paul since he called him out on being disrespectful. I like how the dinners allow them all to ask questions of one another and to make everyone compatible.

Shawn puts Adam’s feet to the fire by saying that the fact he uses vibes for everything, he has a low EQ and he’s not really saying what he is saying. He feels that he is playing a character. The experts giggle as there is a lot of truth in what he is saying.

The table definitely digs into Nikki and Shawn as they are not buying that everything is amazing and they don’t see the chemistry. Mecca doubles down on the fact that he doesn’t see the attraction and then he says, because he didn’t feel that way with BelleJolie which was a slap in the face. So she is now recoiling from him again.

Devin and Caitlin share that they are growing more. No one buys what Felipe is trying to sell and then Cam says that no one on the other side of the table should still be there - Mecca/BelleJolie, Felipe/Tori, Devin/Tori. Couple’s retreat is next week and that is going to be next level - this season has been really good and the format keeps the flow moving.
