SK STREAMING | S16 E5. REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK

E5 of RHONY is back with another episode and I’m locked in! We continue with the ladies on Erika’s private island - Moskito Island. It’s a bumpy ride as they make their way to her home and Jessel says, cue White Lotus. Erika feels that this is her happy place and she enjoys when she is able to bring people there. It seems like the women like it and are looking forward. Erika shares her first trip there and what she loved about it and we see some of the house staff as well. They hop on golf carts with their boozy coconuts. The house is Oasis and it received rave reviews. Between the house and the views, it seems like this could be a great trip that they can enjoy. Jessel loves that she is on a private island and calls it perfection.

They nibble as they tour the house - Erika is shocked that there are additional people claiming to be vegetarians which is news to her as Daisy was eating brisket just last week at her Seder. They get ready for dinner and cocktails and settle into the house.

Sai is feeling all the things in her life that are going on. With her kids going upstate with her husband, she begins to pack for the trip and she begins to get messages that he had filed for divorce. She found out while she was home alone. Even some of the cast messaged her asking if she was ok which is how she found out what he did. She tells this to Hailey as well as Erika and Hailey said that when she heard it, she was a stone wall and she wasn’t going to feed into what was happening online. Clearly, Hailey is a girl’s girl who is down for others. She even quotes what she believes is a Tupac lyric that says that it’s not others that will do things to you, but those that you know who will actually do you in!

Erin and Daisy chat about Sai getting divorced and how her soon to be ex was not who they thought he was. There is a version of Carole and Jessel bonding. Although they were talking about tube socks, of course they get into the whole Caroline Bissett of it all. Erin and Daisy chat about how Jessel has such an issue with her as well as the fact that her house being flooded is an insurance thing.

The girls are preparing for dinner which will be in the pool - they are all surprised at the venue choice for the meal. Erin and Daisy talk about the fact that the house is not something that they are impressed by - she even says that Martha Stewart would say that she was not impressed by it. The women come together to get ready for dinner. As they all assemble, Erin is asked what she was up to that made her so late and she she said she had a tough day - she says this to Sai’s question who is dealing with finding out that her husband filed for divorce and it has leaked online - wild!

Jessel asks how Sai is doing and she walks the women through what took place, how she found out about her divorce, her being alone when she learned the news, and how she had to chat with her daughter. As the women hear this story, other beefs start bubbling at the table including Daisy’s popcorn cieling as well as Erin wading into her hours being flooded and how Erika and Jessel were involved in that conversation. Daisy calls out the way Erika’s island house is decorated and that it looks like Pier 1. This continues into the actual conversation of how Jessel, Daisy, and Erika talked about Erin’s Hampton’s house being flooded. Erin realizes that although Daisy relayed the conversation, she may have been more involved then she realized.

If you have yet to see scenes from next week’s episode, it’s worth a look as it seems that things are very much so coming to a head!
