SK STREAMING | S20 E. 7-9 MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT

Thurs night means another batch of this week’s Married at First Sight episodes. We kick off E7 with the couples being at various stages but having their first dinner together as a group since their honeymoons in Cancun! We see the different levels of chemistry between one another. We see how the couples challenge each of their relationships as well. Nick and Courtney definitely are showcasing their mismatched connection. Nick continues to say how much he likes her, but they see how Courtney is checked out. Nick wants to be loved but I’m not sure if that will happen. The couples also learn that Mecca and BelleJolie are having issues as she was friend zoned! She realizes that he is more affectionate, but she is a bit reserved because of everything that has happened.
In E8 we’re left wondering about the dynamic between Courtney and Nick as she continues to feel the “ick” with him even though it looks like he is trying. At some point, you have to wonder if Courtney is even aware of the fact that she could be sabotaging her own relationship! Nikki and Shawn seem to be acting as if they are on the right path and have hit a new awareness; however, it doesn’t ring true really when watching it or hearing the feedback from the other cast! Marissa and Adam - it’s like watching a series of mistakes that is very evident that something is wrong. They are opposites on everything and yet on paper they seem to be vibing. Michelle and Cameron have had frank conversations between one another talking about finances as well as the fact that children may be an issue.
In E9, the group therapy that they are engaged in is another interesting part of the format. To hear the issues, getting feedback from the experts and then the cast also saying what they think about what they are hearing within their couple as well as the others participating is eye opening. A major call out that is shared for Adam and Marissa is that they need to get deeper. The lack of depth seems to come from the fact that he likes to avoid those conversations. This leads to Marissa talking about her struggles and her father’s alcoholism. In addiiton, he shares that he was cheated on twice so there was a breakthrough in that regard. We delve into the deeper aspects of Felipe and Tori as he wonders whether his interest and passion will fade which would mean that their spark won’t be there. Although the 2 have been intimate, we know that Tori has pulled back as she had avoidant tendancies.
It will be interesting to see what takes place as we continue as we’re 4 weeks out from decision day!
